July 2025 | All the Invisible Upgrades
Bojagi Workshops & Behind the Scene Upgrades

All the Invisible Upgrades
Just like adulting, running a software company can be epically unsexy and underwhelming. It's all fun and games when we have a new feature to chat up - but it's hard to make invisible upgrades, like improved scaling and faster saving speeds, feel newsworthy.
But that's really what Gar and I have been up to over the last couple of months - and we hope that you have been subconsciously enjoying them.
We hope to be able to dive back into the more sexy upgrades to PreQuilt in the fall and we'll happily shout out about them then!
In other news, I have also been hard at work planning our booth at The Festival of Quilt in Birmingham, UK that takes place at the end of July into early August. See below for more about it!
Announcements
We're ramping up to our first time exhibiting both at Quilt Canada in Toronto and The Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, UK.
The Festival of Quilts // July 31 - August 3, 2025
The Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, UK is the biggest quilting show in Europe and we're beyond thrilled to be able to make our European debut at this epic show.
We'll be in Booth E50 with stickers and we look forward to meeting you!

Laura's Teaching Bojagi! // 2025-26
You might have read my article, Bojagi: Embracing a Sense of Self, in the 2025 QuiltCon Magazine or this summer's Quilting Arts Magazine. In the article, I was able to share my story of being a Korean-adoptee and how bojagi helped me to feel a bit more tethered to my heritage.
Springboarding off of this, I'm so happy to share that I've been invited to teach 2 Bojagi workshops in the upcoming months - one in Toronto and another on a Korea to Japan cruise with my friend, Karen Brown of Just Get It Done Quilts!
I have also been interviewed by my local-ish quilt shop, The Workroom, for their The Person Behind series. It was wonderful to get to reflect on my quilts and how Korean bojagi has inspired my work.
Here's the information, I'd love to take this adventure with you!
November 08, 2025 // Contemporary Textile Studio Co-Op // Toronto, Canada
May 26-June 07, 2026 // The Best of Japan Cruise // Seoul, Korea to Tokyo, Japan

A Note from Laura
I recently turned 45 and I wish I had something profound to share with you! But I really don't have anything that couldn't be found printed on a pillow and sold at a TJMaxx or Winners. I'll spare you any attempts!
So, let me just tell you that I had a wonderful day. The family and I played hookey, watched the new Jurrasic Park movie (it delivered dinosaurs and more dinosaurs) and I ate my weight of Korean food. Heaven on earth, people.
I've also decided to not force myself to finish a quilt in time for QuiltCon submission this year. I can be a bit of a quilty procrastinator and sometimes I enjoy (and need) the burn of the midnight oil. But this year it has been making me quite anxious, so I've decided to enjoy the journey a bit more. If I make one, I make one. But lately that journey means curling up on the couch with a book, so probably not.
I hope you are all out there enjoying your journey and the remaining bit of summer (or winter)!
