You might have seen a black and white (and complete) version of Trellis by at QuiltCon.
There are a total of five quilt quests that help you explore your own creativity. And we're proud to share that we have collaborated with Andrea and have built out custom PreQuilt addon resources for four of them!
One of the projects in the book is called House. It is specifically designed for a group of quilters to work on together. The blocks can be made with traditional piecing, FPP, or improvised -- it's an invitation for a group or guild to share skills through a simple exercise. It also invites you as the reader to explore designing your own polygon block.
PreQuilt is set up for you two imagine new colours for Andrea's quilt design or to insert your own blocks into her layout. This is just one of the many PreQuilt designed to support you as you embark on your own quests.
We have a few YouTube tutorials that will walk you through how to find the Addon resources and use them! We hope that they are a helpful component to your quilty quests.
We're so excited to share that we have both the solid color card and the actual fabric swatches for all 200 Cherrywood Hand Dyed fabrics preloaded in PreQuilt!
I started sewing and pressing. Pressing and trimming. Oh geez, 448 x 1.5" finished HSTs is no simple weekend task. I've gotten as far as the picture above (well a little further, the HSTs are all pressed open now). And with the April 28th deadline quickly approaching, I know I'm not going to make that deadline.
For the most part, I'm okay with it! My initial objective - figuring out what to do with that Kona Biscuit - has been accomplished. And rather than feeling disappointed or forcing myself to sweat shop through the process, I've decided to slow down and enjoy this hobby of making. I want to be more focused on the process and the touch of the fabric, than on checking something off my list.
I hope that you all have a chance to slow down and enjoy the ride, look out the window, and haven't been too rushed getting to the final destination. Perhaps that could be part of our quilty quests?
But this quilt is so much more! It is the first quilt quest in Andrea's new book, , and explores line and structure.
If you're looking to explore your creativity, consider Andrea and her wonderful quests. You can buy a signed copy of the book (we are not affiliated).
I always have the best of intentions... I started this year's ecstatic about finding a way to use the Kona Biscuit that was leftover from my sons' dachshund quilts (also not finished yet).
I mocked up a Hunter's Star quilt in PreQuilt. Using the feature, I figured out how big I could make it with only the fabric on hand (hello - I didn't want to buy more Kona Biscuit!) and cut all the fabric.
